On my way to Glen Arbor, I braked to paint this scene. It is a farm complex that is a part of the Sleeping Bear properties. I was able to hike about 300 yards off the road into the shade of a huge barn which made the morning sun less difficult to deal with. My goal was to keep the massing simple and just differentiate the barns from the house. The colors are not invented, they are real, which simplified my task.
